Have important documents (i.e. Social Security Cards, identification cards, birth certificates, passports, extra money, etc.) in a safe accessible location with trusted family or friends.

Create a Safety Word

Create a safety word and/or signal to let family, friends, and children know you are not safe.

Plan and Practice

Plan a safe place for you and your children to escape to. Practice getting out of your home safely. Don't get trapped in the kitchen or bathroom.

Pack Overnight Bags

Pack overnight bags to keep at a trusted friend's or family's house in case of an emergency. Make sure to include medicines, chargers, and other necessities.
